Affiliated kiteboarding centers differentiate themselves by being committed to quality.
They offer a fast and safe teaching, with a quality course lead by qualified instructors, and certify the level of their students with the Kiteboarder Card.
The level 3 of the IKO Kiteboarder Card also allows you to begin a pro career and attend an assistant training course.

IKO Kiteboarding centers commit to:

IKO sertification levels
The following lists are a detailed explanation of the different skill levels that can be achieved by students during their learning process.
The certification standards have been designed to validate the levels of the students, from their first body drag to their first jump.
It allows instructors to know exactly what the student has learnt and from what point to take up his training.

Kiteboarding level up to IKO Level 1
  1. Setting up equipment, determine wind direction, know how the safety systems work and how to use them, piloting kite underpowered.
  2. Launching and landing kite at the edge of the window with an assistant.
  3. Independency in conducting a thorough pre- flight check, knowledge of the wind window key words.
  4. Landing the kite alone, body dragging without a harness, piloting in a harness in power zone
  5. Use of quick release on harness line, piloting with one hand, on-shore self launch, water relaunch, awareness of the wind effects and their dangers

Kiteboarding level up to IKO Level 2

  1. Using the quick release, using of the power loop release systems
  2. Body dragging using body positioning and piloting of the kite to move in wanted direction, awareness of positioning in space, piloting one hand while body dragging
  3. Board recovering and positioning of the feet into foot straps, generating steady pull in starting position on the board.

Kiteboarding level up to IKO Level 3
  1. Flying the kite to generate steady pull once standing on the board, knowledge of navigation priority rules
  2. Change of direction up and down to the wind, holding an edge with the board, speed control, power trim adjustment
  3. Control of speed with edging, knowledge about where to focus to keep the right course, up-wind body dragging to recover board without leash
  4. Riding a twin-tip or a wake board, switch of direction
  5. First jumps
